TODAY'S RUMORS!

DID WAYNE GET BOOED OR NOT?

In a recent report, by a newspaper they said that Lil' Wayne was forced to say sorry to the fine people of Richmond for a weird show that had him leaving early. Well, when he left, they reported that Weezy got booed. I am hearing that this wasn't the truth. Some people that were there told me that when Wayne left the stage, after that first half hearted, performance, the fans booed the DJ for playing music, kinda sending a message that the show was over.

Kotobukiya's 'Star Wars' Bounty Hunter Series

Kotobukiya is expanding its ARTFX line of statues with a series of six popular bounty hunters from the Star Wars saga. First up will be Boba Fett, the Mandalorian Menace, who is the most popular of all the Star Wars killers for hire. After Boba Fett's debut in April of 2008 Kotobukiya will release a new bounty hunter every month in the series of snap-fit kits that will also include Dengar, 4-LOM, Zuckass, Bossk, and IG-88. Each kit will come a special bonus part -- collect all six bounty hunters and create a $100 full size Darth Vader statue from the bonus parts.

The ARTFX Boba Fett stands nearly 12-inches tall in a dynamic fighting pose, simultaneously flying and firing his flame thrower. The bounty hunters costume, including his distinctive Mandalorian armor, is based on his appearance in Return of the Jedi and is reproduced in great detail. The Boba Fett figure comes with Darth Vader's left arm and a cool base -- the bases of all six figures can be arranged to create an imperial logo.

'I would have loved to be PM'

It's a cold Thursday morning in Westminster. Ken Livingstone, Boris Johnson, the cop-turned-Liberal Democrat candidate Brian Paddick and the Greens' Siân Berry are in the midst of a London mayoral hustings focused on the environment - a rather anti-climactic event in front of an invited audience of eco-oriented activists and political professionals, some sporting the obligatory suits and Joe 90 glasses, with tweeting BlackBerrys to match.

The Livingstone camp sees Johnson as a practitioner of the politics of small things, aiming much of his pitch at the suburbs, and so it proves: in his opening speech, he begins by paying tribute to the wonders of recycling in Bexley. The mayor takes a little time to warm up, but eventually gets into character, casually accusing the British Airports Authority of "decades of complete lies".

Bone chips may sideline Ohlund for season

The Vancouver Canucks received some bad news Thursday when they learned defenceman Mattias Ohlund has bone chips in his left knee.

In an attempt to reduce the swelling in the joint, Ohlund has been administered anti-inflammatory drugs. He will be given four to six days to see if the swelling has gone down enough to return to play. If Ohlund has not recovered enough to play at that time, he will undergo arthroscopic surgery.

"Hopefully when it settles down I'll be able to finish out the year, hopefully get into the playofs and play for a long time," Ohlund said. "We're going to have to wait and see a few days."

Ohlund would miss the rest of the regular season as a result of the surgery. Even if Ohlund avoids surgery now and is able to continue playing, he will still have to go under the knife after the season.

Oracle - how to make friends and influence people

He said Oracle was willing to support BEA Systems, rather than saying something like he usually does like, 'why would anyone go somewhere else when Oracle can provide the software stack?'"

He added: "He's beginning to see he can't own the world, or he'll alienate customers. He's finding it's better to own 70 per cent of a real large pie, than all of a smaller one."

Oracle's "hot pluggable" middleware software, used to underpin its ebusiness applications suite, is designed around standards, which means it can be swapped out with open source and competing products. That technical design is also meant to attract partners, such as application builders catering to small businesses.

Having a rich network of third-party products based on Oracle's software helps fill the "white spaces" - aka gaps - in Oracle's own portfolio.

JOHNSON: 'Just move on' won't work for offended CU students

We want the university to do its job. They will tell us to just move on, but I'm not accepting that anymore. To do that will only mean it can happen again.

"Where is the zero-tolerance?" Chris Choe said, spitting that he must wage this fight in the middle of studying for midterms.

"He singled us out as targets," he repeated, wondering whether such solicitation on the already racially charged campus qualifies somehow as a crime.

"We are going to go to the administration seeking very specific guarantees, clear action and effort. This will not be like every other time," he said, "when months down the road, you talk to your buddy and say, 'Remember that?'

"We are going to stay with this."

Way past time to do so.

A contest the falls cannot lose; Time to choose world's 7 new natural ...

April will mark 18 years since I moved to Niagara Falls, and while we haven't always seen eye to eye I've never loved the actual falls more.

I'm convinced everyone who moves here has a relationship with our namesake in three stages.

First is infatuation: You can't believe you can see the falls whenever you want. Your parents had to drive hundreds of kilometres to bring you here as a kid, now it's practically in your backyard! Like newlyweds, you can't get enough of each other.

Then comes resentment: You start hating tourist season. You can't get any 'alone' time with your waterfalls any more. You avoid the whole tacky, tawdry scene. You even gripe about turning your wipers on while driving through the mist. The thrill is gone, baby.

Then comes acceptance: You look past the casinos, museums and attractions and come to appreciate the falls for what they are - one of the most beautiful things nature ever produced.

Cash opens up literary treasures

British literary treasures, including the earliest complete book written in English, are to go on display thanks to a 5m donation.

The artefacts at the University of Oxford's Bodleian Library are currently accessible only to a few scholars.

The gift, from Oxford publisher Julian Blackwell, will go towards the creation of an exhibition hall at one of the library's sites.

Other treasures include an embroidered handwritten book by Queen Elizabeth I.

The Bodleian Library has a copy of almost every book printed and an extra 5,000 books are added to its catalogue each week.

It is the main research library for the University of Oxford and occupies several sites across the city.

The new centre will be named the Blackwell Hall in recognition of the donation and will form part of a 70m redevelopment of the New Bodleian Library.

Open Thread

What about all those people who say they're against inter-racial marriage? These are people who are so vile that they oppose OTHER people marrying outside their race! Nevertheless, where Madison Ave puts it's dough is where the culture currently IS, perhaps that's not where we'd like it to be but that's the "reality on the ground". Before you call me a race hustler please just examine the argument, okay? List all of the advertising campaigns that feature inter-racial couples of the black and white variety. As an owner of a production company in California I can tell you that it hasn't happened. Notice that I separated the "commercial" aspect from the "production" aspect. There are a few interracial couples on a few t.v shows in minor story lines, this is different from direct ad dollars in an advertising campaign.
